Winter Storm Warning

  • Post category:News

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area from 6pm (today) Saturday until 8am Monday. We should expect mixed precipitation, including 8″-18″ of snowfall. Wind gusts up to 35 mph are also possible.

The roads in Fairview Forest will likely be impassable, and low temperatures over the next few days may lead to icing. FFHA’s contracted plow operator has been put on standby and is ready to plow once snowfall is ceased and if 6+” of snow remains on the roadways.

It is possible that Fairview Forest will lose power. Please be sure to store provisions for yourself: drinking water, food, wood/gas for heating. Remember to secure all outdoor water faucets and make your well-head is covered and insulated.

Reminders:

  • Road Salt should not to be used in Fairview Forest. It poisons the environment and our drinking water.
  • Please do not drive. If you do, please do not abandon your vehicle in the roadway.
  • Please familiarize yourself with Fairview Forest’s Winter Roads Plan.
  • Our Roads Committee Chair, Wayne Craig, is out of town. Please direct your questions to Rob Greene.

Finally, please post your winter storm photos to Fairview Forest on Facebook and/or Fairview Forest on Nextdoor.
